Speech gap

John McCain’s not a great public speaker:

It’s funny how many people make fun of Bush’s public speaking. He’s horrible, I can’t stand watching him on TV (usually I just find a Bush speech online if I want to know what he said), but it’s mainly because he’s annoying.

McCain, though, is just horribly boring. I don’t want to throw things at my TV when I watch him speak; rather, I just want to get a book to read.

And being boring is a cardinal sin in broadcast media. Fortunately for McCain, no one in the media care about his sins.
